Recently separated from her layabout husband, Komaki takes her daughter Nonchan and moves back to her hometown to live with her mother. For a single mother in her 30s with no qualifications and no experience, finding a decent job is not easy. When she discovers that her "Noriben" bento is a big hit at her daughter's kindergarten she comes up with a brilliant idea.

DIRECTOR BIO
While working as an assistant director to Sogo ISHII, Akira OGATA (*1959) made his own independent film, CHINESE CABBAGE MAN (1980), which was selected for the PIA Film Festival. He made his big screen debut with BOY'S CHOIR, which was awarded the Alfred Bauer Prize at the 50th Berlin International Film Festival in 2000.
