Kimono workshop
- Sunday, June 9, 1:30 p.m. Mousonturm Studio 3
Workshop: The Kimono - More than just clothing
Traditional Japanese clothing is still a mystery for many Europeans. In Japan, the kimono was usually only worn on official occasions after 1945 and had an old-fashioned image. But during the last years, the kimono has had a revival with young people too, and it has also become quite popular outside of Japan. The workshop will give a short introduction to the history of the kimono and its meaning today. Following, participants can try on a yukata - a light cotton summer kimono. For that purpose, please wear light, tight clothes.
