Call for Entries

The Nippon Connection Film Festival 2014 is open to films that have been made after 2011 and produced or shot in Japan. All lengths and genres will be considered. We will accept submissions until March 15, 2014.

3rd VGF Nippon in Motion Award – Extra Short Films Wanted!

For our VGF Nippon in Motion Competition, initiated in cooperation with the Frankfurt
Public Transport Company, we are looking for films that are not longer than 12 seconds
and do not need sound to be understood. The general topic is: Nippon in Motion. Be
creative! The winner will receive a prize of 250 €. The top three films will be shown on the
Frankfurt subway info-screens and at the next Nippon Connection Festival. The official
award ceremony will be held on June 1, 2014.

Conditions for participation:
1. The film must not be longer than 12 seconds.
2. The film must be make sense without sound.
3. The topic of the competition – Nippon in Motion – must come across in the film.
4. Submissions can be made only via Reelport: www.reelport.com
5. Extended submission deadline: March 15, 2014

Selection process and award ceremony:
After the deadline, a selection committee will choose 10 submissions to be presented on
the Nippon Connection website starting in April 2014. Visitors can vote for their favorites
online, thus determining the winner. At the award ceremony of the 14th Nippon Connection
Film Festival, held on June 1, 2014, the winner will receive 250 €, donated by the VGF
Frankfurt Public Transport Company. The top three films will be shown on the info-screens
in Frankfurt's subway stations during two weeks in May 2014.
